A lot has changed in the 8 years since our very first brewday. On 31st March 2015 Dave brewed Fifty Five, an American brown ale for the local Round Table. Back then we had an 80 litre kit, which Dave would brew on twice in a day to fill our 4 x 160 litre fermenters. Dave (and sometimes Emma) would package those nano batches into a few kegs and bottle by hand.
Fast forward to today and we have grown somewhat. We have a brilliant team of 9 staff. Our equipment has grown a lot too. We have a 16 hectolitre (1600 litres) brewkit, 6 x 3200 litre and 5 x 1600 litre fermenters and last year we installed a 5 head automated Microcan canning line.
Since that first brew in 2015 we have:
- Produced 113 different beers
- Brewed 568 Gyles (batches) of beer
- Sold over 1.5 million pints of Wild Horse beer
- Our beer is available across North Wales & we sell into mid Wales & North West England
To celebrate our birthday we have brewed a beer called Wyth, (pronounced 'oo-ith' and Welsh for Eight). Wyth is a Cold IPA brewed to mark our eighth birthday. Brewed with 100% Golden Promise malt and fermented warm with our house lager yeast to showcase Citra, Simcoe and Cashmere hops. Expect vibrant fresh tropical and citrus fruit, light and lean malt character and a moreish bitter finish.
We’d like to say a massive diolch yn fawr/thank you very much to all the pubs, bars, shops, cafes, restaurants who have supported us from day one. And we also need to thank YOU for supporting Wild Horse by buying and drinking our beer, telling your friends about it, coming to our events and generally being supporters of everything we do.
We really hope you enjoy the beer and here’s to another eight years!
Iechyd da!
