Packaging
We're continually working to improve our packaging to minimise our impact on the environment. Here is where we are at, and what you should do to recycle our packaging material after you've enjoyed our beer.
Cans. We package our beer in aluminium cans which can be recycled with your curbside recycling. Our cans are currently labelled with polypropylene (PP) labels. Whilst PP labels can't currently be recycled curbside, it is typical for them to be left on cans for recycling - heat during the can recycling process ensures that labels and glue are burned away from the containers. Alternatively labels can be removed and recycled separately at major supermarkets.
Boxes. We pack our cans in cardboard cases and seal them with paper tape. The box and tape can be recycled together with your curbside recycling.
Packaging peanuts. We use biodegradable plant starch based packing peanuts for some online orders. These can be re-used or composted in your garden. If you wish to dispose of them, please so so with your general waste - they will breakdown within weeks if they go to landfill.
Bags. In our shop and taproom we use paper bags, rather than plastic. These can be re-used and eventually recycled with your curbside recycling.
Kegs. We package our beer in stainless-steel kegs which are washed and reused, meaning the packaging material required for keg beer is minimal. For hygiene and identification reasons each keg is fitted with a polypropylene (PP) keg cap and paper keg collar once filled - these can be both be recycled curbside after use.
