JOB VACANCY - BREWERY ASSISTANT / RELIEF DELIVERY DRIVER
Wild Horse Brewing Co is a small, independent, growing business based in the seaside town of Llandudno on the North Wales coast. Now in our eighth year, our team of nine is incredibly passionate about what they do and are extremely proud to see our beers served across the region and beyond.
Due to the increasing demand for our beers and recent expansion of our production facilities, we are looking to add an energetic, adaptable, and passionate individual to our team. Experience and knowledge of craft beer are not required. Rather we are looking for someone who relishes a challenge, who is keen to get stuck in, and who will demonstrate a willingness to learn and ultimately play a key part in the day-to-day business of the brewery.
A full-time position will provide the opportunity for the successful candidate to join a dynamic team in the role of Brewery Assistant and Relief Delivery Driver. In this varied role, you will assist the production team with processes from wort production through to packaging, as well as delivering beer to our customers to provide cover when our principal delivery driver is unavailable, or when additional delivery runs are required. This role will report to our Head Brewer.

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Brewery Assistant:
- Grain handling and milling
- Assisting with wort production
- Cleaning / sanitation of brewhouse and fermentation vessels
- Kegging
- Assisting during canning
- Keg washing
- Accurate record keeping
- Assisting with other brewery operations as required
- Delivery Driver:
- Planning daily routes (using automated software)
- Loading the van and safely delivering beer to trade/retail customers across the region
- Ensuring deliveries are fulfilled correctly
- Collecting empty kegs and returning them to the brewery
- Maintaining good relationships with trade customers
- Technical support for Wild Horse beer dispense (training will be given)
- Performing daily and weekly checks to make sure van remains in good working order
- General brewery house keeping
- Occasionally representing the brewery at events
PERSON SPEC
Must haves:
- Be good with people and be able to demonstrate customer service skills
- Good computer skills
- Professional and confident manner
- The desire and skills to grow and develop as fast as the business
- Strong organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise and organise your time
- Strong team player
- Perform tasks accurately and consistently
- Positive, proactive attitude towards work
- Full and clean UK driving licence (held for at least 5 years)
- Experience of driving a van or other commercial vehicle
- The right to live and work in the UK
Nice to haves:
- Forklift qualification
- Welsh language skills
- An interest in the creative side of the brewery, including contributing new beer ideas and label artwork concepts
WORKING HOURS
- 40 hours per week
- Regular work days are Monday to Friday
- There may be a requirement to travel to brewery events and work outside of regular work days to meet the demands of the business
SALARY / BENEFITS
- Salary £19,800 to £21,000 per annum (based on driving experience)
- 4 weeks paid holiday plus bank holidays, rising to 5 weeks plus bank holidays for long service
